NEW SETS 5078, 5079, 5080, NH147 and NH148

Here are a couple of new sets with smaller playbill, temporary poster size advertisement decals. This is the first a several sets I have planed and they are going to be era specific but can be used in any era as new or old worn down signage.
Check out the real world pics for some ideas, remember in the old days they didn’t have TV or the Internet and even owning a radio was a big investment so companies did lots and lots of advertising to get their name out.

(SOLD) MOUNTAINAIR, NEW MEXICO DEPOT

Custom build of the Mountainair New Mexico Depot … build from 0.08″ styrene and Grandt Line doors and windows. Stucco texture added with light weathering just enough to bring out the details, doesn’t show that well in photos. No lighting but the window have been waved to give it that old glass look. A whole bunch of hours went into this from the layout to the 24 hand cut eaves supports. I think I spent about a day getting those right and then cutting each one and trying to get it to match. Simple job that just ate time up. The entire model was hand cut (note to self use thinner styrene next time but .08″ was all I had enough of on hand). The slick shiny styrene was sanding the textured as a base for the stucco and then a build up of paint was used for added texture. I only had the two pictures to go on, but I think it looked pretty close to the real deal. To far away from the road to snag some street view images all you could do was see a little piece of the roof. Oh well nothing new about that.
